Malavika Nair is an Indian Film Actress (Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam). After appearing in minor supporting roles in several Malayalam films in 2012, she played her first lead role in the Malayalam film Black Butterfly (2013). She was praised for her performance as a blind girl in her Tamil debut film Cuckoo (2014) and received numerous awards including Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She was also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu for Yevade Subramanyam in 2016.

Sify wrote that “Malavika Nair who wowed the audiences with her performance in Yevade Subramanyam shines again as modern independent minded girl. She steals the show in many scenes”. In 2018, she starred as Alamelu Gemini Ganeshan in the Savitri biopic, Mahanati, directed by Nag Ashwin, which was successful at the box-office ran of 100 days.
